My 4 year old birthday girl briefed me on the cake she wanted. It should be a rainbow, with a ladybug flying over it, and lots of chocolate. She drew me a sketch.
Fortunately the mountains and trees were in the sketch for decorative purposes only, I didn’t have to make them.
I made the rainbow by cutting an 8″ round cake in half, and sticking it on top of a 10″ round cake. The whole thing was covered in buttercream frosting, then I cut a hole in the blue fondant for the rainbow to poke through.
My girls had a wonderful time sorting M&Ms into colours so I could make the rainbow, and they highly enjoyed eating all the brown ones.
My mum made the ladybug cupcakes, and I think we both enjoyed making a 4 year old’s dream come true!
